Giving Bach

The goal of the “Giving Bach” Program is to enrich the lives of young people by providing opportunities for student musicians to perform for their peers in concerts that are educational and interactive.

The “Giving Bach” program was started by music instructor Richard Meyer with his Advanced Orchestra students from Oak Avenue Intermediate School in Temple City, California. The first performance took place on December 1, 2009, for the students of Five Acres Therapeutic School in Altadena, California.

Since then, Oak Avenue orchestra and band students have presented interactive concerts for hundreds of special needs and elementary school students.
